After a career that featured a stakes placing on debut as a 2yo, 11 wins in 31 starts including stakes wins (7) on dirt and turf at both sprint and route distances, 2 appearances in the Breeders’ Cup and a quality run at Royal Ascot, Bucchero’s early results in his stallion career have surely earned him his rightful spot as the successor for his sire Kantharos. Through 3/19/2025 Bucchero runners have finished 1st, 2nd or 3rd an astounding 48.5% of the time, #1 of all sires with more than 1000 starts and clearly outdistancing elite sires like Into Mischief (45.1%), Gun Runner (45.2%), Justify (43%) and Uncle Mo (43.3%).
