With 4 crops of runners at the track, Bucchero has already produced Multiple Grade 1 winner Book’em Danno. and Multiple Grade 3 winner Queen Maxima to go along with 17 total stakes performers (15 of which were in open stakes). In 2024 Bucchero was the #1 sire outside of Kentucky with 6 OPEN stakes winners. In now his 2nd year in New York, Bucchero is the #1 sire in New York by all metrics, achieving this feat without a SINGLE New York bred or sired runner while competing with a leaderboard of sires whose majority of runners are campaigned in NY for lucrative New York purses.

After a career that featured a stakes placing on debut as a 2yo, 11 wins in 31 starts including stakes wins (7) on dirt and turf at both sprint and route distances, 2 appearances in the Breeders’ Cup and a quality run at Royal Ascot, Bucchero’s early results in his stallion career have surely earned him his rightful spot as the successor for his sire Kantharos. Like Kantharos, Bucchero has excelled in producing fast, precocious horses that can run on any surface and consistently perform. Through 9/30/2025 Bucchero runners have finished 1st, 2nd or 3rd an astounding 47% of the time, with total earnings of over $13,000,000. In the most lucrative State Bred program in the country, which generously awards breeders for in the money finishes (1st - 40%, 2nd 20%, 3rd - 10%), BUCCHERO is a virtual ATM for breeders in New York.

After standing in Florida for his first 5 years, Bucchero relocated to New York and bred 112 mares in 2024 and 192 in 2025. His first New York Bred yearlings went through the ring in August where he led all sires currently standing in New York with a $240,000 yearling.
